For the past ten years, Becky Gough has been helping Newfoundlanders and Labradorians find peace of mind and a path forward from financial hardship. 

One of her most memorable experiences was helping a senior couple who had worked their whole lives to pay off their mortgage — only to face unexpected medical challenges that left them in financial distress. Becky guided them through a consumer proposal that allowed them to keep their home — and all the memories it held.

For Becky, that’s what the work is all about: helping people feel seen, supported, and understood. A true people person, she values the relationships she builds with her clients and takes pride in ensuring they know they’re not alone in their journey.

She believes that debt doesn’t define a person — and that the stigma surrounding it often hides the reality that life happens. Illness, job loss, and family hardship can happen to anyone. 

One story that has always stayed with Becky involves a client whose financial stress had taken a physical toll. “He was experiencing physical effects of his stress when we first met,” she recalls. “A few weeks after we started his proposal, he came back to show me how much his condition had improved. That’s when you realize what we do really matters.”
